Cave Romana is a comfortable and quirky old stone house, built into the site of a quarry, which the owners restored from ruined farm buildings. It sleeps up to eleven adults in two separate apartments over two floors and is ideal for two families travelling together with older children and teenagers or for groups of adults.
If you are seeking a peaceful and relaxing holiday, the house and grounds are very quiet. At the bottom of the garden you can wander in the woods and we are a few minutes from the brilliantly clear Adriatic Sea and local beaches. Cave Romana is also close to the city of Pula with its ancient arena, museums, restaurants, shops and food market.
The swimming pool is 7x8m and 1.40m deep, and is warmed by a solar heating system. Facing east, it gets first sun, and is near enough to the kitchen to make it a favourite spot for breakfast.
The living room is air-conditioned and has a wood-burning stove for cooler evenings in the spring and autumn. On rainy days, or if you just want to stay indoors, there is a good supply of books, games, CDs, DVDs and an Internet TV.
Big groups often prefer to use the downstairs kitchen and living area for cooking and socialising. There is a tv and sound system and the music can be switched through to the dance floor just outside.
The well-equipped kitchen has a dishwasher.
There are two bedrooms, both with king sized beds. They share a shower room with a wc and a small washing machine.
The upper apartment has a kitchen and space to eat inside and out. The large master bedroom has a king-size bed and there is an annexe next door with a single bed and a small library. A second sofa bed can be made up in here and there is a shower room.
At the other end of the apartment there is a big bedroom with three single beds and a shower room next door so it is an ideal space for older children.
